UGC Scholarships 2022: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has come up with four new scholarship schemes. These scholarships are offered for rank holders, single girl child, scheduled caste (SC), and scheduled tribe (ST) students.
Through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) scholarships.gov.in, eligible candidates can apply for this UGC scholarship. The complete details are as follows.,
UGC Student Scholarships 2022
University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications for scholarship schemes. It offers four types of scholarships. These include.,
- UGC PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship,
- PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders,
- PG Scholarship for SC, ST Students.
- UGC Ishan Uday Scholarship for Northeast Region.
UGC PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship.
UGC offers this scholarship to encourage girls to pursue their higher education. The scholarship is open to all UGC-recognized universities.
Eligibility: A regular, full-time PG first-year student in an institute or college may apply. However, this scholarship is not applicable to those enrolling in/enrolled in distance education PG.
UGC PG Scholarship for University Rank Holders.
UGC is offering this scholarship to university toppers at the undergraduate level. However, this scholarship is not applicable to those enrolling in/enrolled in professional, distance-education courses.
Eligibility: A Regular, Full-Time Master’s Degree from any recognized University, Deemed University, Private University, or Autonomous College. This scholarship is only available to the first and second-rank holders admitted.
UGC PG Scholarship for SC, ST Students
Scholarship for SC, ST Students: This scholarship scheme has been introduced to encourage SC and ST students towards engineering, technology, management, pharmacy, and other professional fields.
Under this, scholarship is given to 1,000 people every year. A scholarship of Rs.7,800 per month is granted for ME and M.Tech courses and Rs.4,500 per month for other courses. The Applications must be submitted by October 31 (last Date). SC and ST students pursuing professional courses in UGC-recognized institutes are eligible.
UGC Ishan Uday Scholarship
UGC is offering this scholarship to encourage students from the North Eastern Region (NER) of India in higher education.
Eligibility: Only first-year undergraduate students are eligible for the scholarship. Students pursuing general degree courses including medical and paramedical courses can also apply.
Note: The parent’s income should not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakhs a year.
the Scholarship is awarded to 10,000 students annually. For general degree holders Rs. 5,400, technical, medical, professional, and paramedical courses will be given a scholarship of Rs.7,800 per month. Applications must be submitted by October 31. Visit https://ner.ugc.ac.in/ for complete details.
